Walking Past Limiting Beliefs

Don't read this post! Seriously. Just scroll on.

...Too late 😀

Last month, I had the joy of bringing my family into the unique space I call my workplace, a ‘spruced up old shopping mall' that's anything but ordinary. My toddler, naturally, was immediately drawn to crossed lines on the entrance floor declaring,

'You may not cross this line! EVER!!!'

I've walked over this message countless times, but on their visit, it hit me differently. Thanks to Astro Teller and the Moonshot Podcast, I understood the why behind the line at the entrance of X, The Moonshot Factory. Astro explains in Episode 1:

'It's a stupid rule, right? You have to break it to get in and do your job. But the reason it's there is to help my team practice breaking stupid rules. This is about getting people past limiting beliefs and bad assumptions about what is correct or proper.'

It's a powerful reminder that innovation often lies in questioning the status quo and challenging our own assumptions.

Since you've clearly ignored my initial instruction, I wonder which other limiting beliefs, rules, or assumptions might you choose to leave behind today.
